Planning to deliver a funeral ceremony yourself?
More and more people are choosing to create their own funeral ceremony when a loved one dies. It is possible to buy a coffin over the internet, arrange for a direct cremation company or traditional funeral director to collect your loved one and take them direct to the crematorium with no family and friends to attend. This of course saves costs and allows you to have the ceremony/service that you want where you want it and without time restrictions or the need to follow convention.
You can arrange your farewell service or ceremony anywhere you like. This could be a house, a village hall, a pub or a function room in a hotel for example.
You will of course still be wanting to give your loved one a personal, dignified and fitting ‘send-off’ but may not know how to say or do things. Some people like to write the eulogy or tribute themselves but are unsure of the ‘other bits’ around it. I can give you suggested wordings for those ‘other bits’ and a structure and you can create your own script and ceremony.
Even if you are having a more traditional style of funeral at a crematorium or graveside, you can still create and lead your own ceremony and knowing what to say at the more formal times, such as the committal, can help.
